Look what I made...

I am a teacher who loves designing creative and fun bulletin boards to display student work. For my first several years of teaching I was in a portable. Believe it or not, I loved it! The whole classroom was one giant bulletin board, wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling, and ready to decorate!

In my new classroom I have been faced with some major challenges:

• The walls are made of a type of brick that staples and pushpins will not go through, and which nothing sticks to. 
• To make matters worse, one entire wall of my classroom is windows and a door.
• Three small bulletin boards have been put up. However, with 30+ students each year those small boards are barely enough, and I am limited in what I can display.  

These obstacles have forced me to have to get creative. I decided that for the upcoming school year I will have 2 clothes lines across the line of windows in my room. I thought this would be a great way to utilize that space {without getting in trouble for sticking things to the windows that don't come off}. Then, I stumbled upon chalkboard clothespins on pinterest. Click here to view. I decided to create some of my own:

These will be the final touch to making my clothesline display come to life. During the first days of school I will have my students use chalk to write their names on their clothes pins. Then, at the end of the year, I can erase them and save them for the next. Here's a close-up sample that I made for my daughter:
